The Narnia Experience Returns To Liverpool’s St George’s Hall Next Month

Following its sell-out run in 2013, The Narnia Experience returns to St George’s Hallnext month; the critically acclaimed interactive walk-through experience is back from 8 – 25 February and tickets are on sale now.

Brought to life once again by Crosby-based community theatre charity In Another Place, the company also behind 2016’s hugely successful production, The Alice Experience.

Visitors are invited to step through the enchanted wardrobe where they will discover a wintery forest scene and whisked to the magical land of Narnia. Take on the role of either Lucy or Edmund and follow the adventure from their perspective in this classic children’s tale by C.S. Lewis.

The Great Hall will be beautifully transformed as visitors go on a journey through the White Forest and across the land of Narnia in this large-scale, immersive and interactive trail. Get set to meet all the favourite characters along the way including Mr Tumnus, Mrs Beaver and The White Witch.

The Narnia Experience is an ideal day out for the whole family, from children 3+ to adults alike, and is perfect to enjoy during the February half-term holidays.

Set to be a huge production, In Another Place have gathered a team of around 500 volunteers to produce the event who have been drawn from community groups and churches across Liverpool, many individuals are also getting involved.  

This event is expected to sell-out fast, so be sure to book your tickets early and don’t miss out visiting Narnia!

The Narnia Experience returns to St George’s Hall from 8 – 25 February and isopen daily from 9:30am – 7:30pm with admittance every 15 minutes.

Annie Spiers, Artistic Director said: “This is not just walking through the amazing scenery, but meeting the characters as they bring the story to life in this walk-through performance. This is an experience all ages will love”.

There will be four Autism friendly performances on Tue 21^st February between 6:15pm – 7pm specifically designed to welcome those who will benefit from a more relaxed performance environment. A BSL performance is also available at 7:30pm on Saturday 18 February.

Legoland 4D Movie

Legoland Discovery Centre at the Trafford Centre have got a new 4D Lego Movie out called Nexo Knights. We were super excited to be invited along to view it as we are massive fans of lego!

If you haven't been to Legoland at the Trafford Centre, it is well worth a visit. As the summer holidays are almost upon us, this would be the perfect time to take the little ones. 

Aside from the Lego Movie, with the 4D effects, which I'm not going to spoil for you, there are a whole host of other lego activities to amuse and entertain the family. 

The Lego experience starts with a talk by Professor Block about how lego is made! This then leads you round to a lego ride where you can shoot the baddies to rescue the princess!!!!

Mini Legoland is next with night and day rotating so you can experience the displays with all the lights! It's interactive too and you can have a Manchester United v Manchester City match!!!

The main part of the centre holds the cinema, which generally shows two different films on rotation, a police car ride for little ones, Merlins magical flying ride, car building and racing, a workshop to help you build different creations, a big building blocks area for little hands and a Lego Friends area too! If that isn't enough there is a soft play area and a cafe to keep you fuelled!

You can definitely have a full day out here and as our British weather can be unpredictable to say the least, this is a great choice as it's all inside.

Go on, treat yourselves to a day of fun and building at Legoland Discover Centre this summer!!!

Happy 11th Birthday Megan!!!!

My gorgeous girl is growing up fast....too fast! Her last few months of primary school are rushing up, high school is beckoning.
She turned 11 on Friday and has had a weekend of partying to celebrate. She was delighted to get an Iphone 5 as her present and it hasn't left her hand since!
Her BFF birthday is 2 days after megs so it's always a busy time for celebrating. The weekend has been a whirl of friends and family, roller skating, sleepovers, eating out and today will end with a Chinese takeaway.

Happy birthday Megan!! You are growing up into the most beautiful, kind, generous and caring girl. Love you loads sweetie.

The New 4D Lego Movie at Legoland!

Last night we got to go to Legoland at The Trafford Centre to see the new 4D Lego film. The event was closed to the public and included a selection of the great and the good......and us with the Sephtons!!!!!

The 5 kiddy winks were thoroughly overexcited to just be all together and throw Legoland into the mix and I am sure you can imagine!

The event started with the usual Lego factory tour which never gets old as it's interactive enough to keep the children entertained. We then had the chance to look at the exhibits before our viewing.

The film was brilliant! It featured familiar lego characters in an adventure to defeat the character Risky Business who wanted to hypnotise the Lego friends to make them perform at him new theme park Brick World!!!
Thankfully with the help of the audience Risky Business is defeated!!! 

The special effects are great. As well as the 3D experience, you get the added bonus of being blown with wind and a light soaking too and even a smoke effect!
Without wanting to go into too much detail, this 12 minutes show is brilliant and when you next visit Legoland you will have to see it.

We then had the opportunity to have a play in Legoland and build to our hearts content. As this was an exclusive event it wasn't busy so the children were able to do as much as they wanted with only very short queues.

The boys disappeared and were last seen zooming around the Lego car 'catch the robbers' race track and building lego cars to shoot down the ramps! 

The girls alternated between giving themselves a workout on Merlins flying ride, where the faster you cycle the higher you go, building creations in the Lego pits and playing in the play area.

The master builder was open to give you a step by step guide to building lego creations.

The cafe had refreshments for hot children who were having so much fun they needed to cool down!

The children were all treated to a goody back, containing a poster advertising the Lego Movie, a lego keyring, badge and a packet of sweets and we got a complimentary photo as a keepsake.

If you are planning on visiting the Trafford Centre soon you definitely need to plan a visit to Legoland. You may possibly enjoy it even more than the kids!!!!!

Chill Factore Meeting Santa!

A couple of weeks ago we were invited to meet Santaat the Chill Factore whilst enjoying a play in the snow too! How could we refuse???

When we arrived we changed into our snow wear, which you hire at the Chill Factore and got ourselves into the queue to meet Santa. The queue was well organised and had books, tables and seats for little bottoms to have a rest during busier times. Martin and Ben had a chance to sit and read together while we were waiting.
When it was our turn we were led down a snowy walkway, decorated with festive trees which felt very magical.
We knocked on the door and entered the sweetest little room, decked out with a fireplace, cards, presents and the jolliest Santa.
He spent a lot of time talking to Megan and Ben, asking them about themselves and whether they had been good this year and gift they would like him to bring on Christmas Eve.
He asked them to leave out carrots  for the reindeer and a little something for him.
Both Megan and Ben were very captivated by him and he was so jolly and friendly that the magic felt very real.
We were then able to take a few pics with Santa.

Once we came out of there we went for a play in the snow.
The Chill Factore is split into different sections. There is a part for very young children which has an ice maze in crawl through and a slide to climb. There are also mini donuts to slide around on. We had a little play here then ventured round to the bigger donuts and the sledging. Ben and Martin went on the donuts together then we all had a few turns on the sledging. Although it was the run up to Christmas and a Sunday afternoon it wasn't overly crowded and queuing didn't take long for anything.
After the inevitable snowball fight we left after about an hour. That was plenty of time for us to do all we wanted and didn't get too cold during that time.

If you are looking for a special treat in the run up for Christmas this could be it!
We would definitely recommend you visit to meet Santa!

Ben's 6th Birthday

A very late post but I just wanted to share a couple of pictures from Bens 6th Birthday!!

My boy is 6, and getting so very grown up.

Fab Lab Hair Highlights

Recently we were sent the Hair Highlights kit from Fab Lab to have a play with and see what we thought.
Megan was very excited when she realised we would be experimenting on her hair!
When we opened it up to have a look the instructions were really easy to understand.

The highlighter is coloured powder so nothing that is going to be permanent and will be easy to wash out.

The idea is to slip the hair in thin strips between the highlighter pad and just pull gently down to colour the hair. Simple!!

After putting an old towel around Megan's shoulders to protect her clothes we had a go!

We decided to use different colours to create a wave effect of different colours through her hair.

The powder was very easy to apply. It takes a bit of time as you are using small sections of hair at a time.
Only a bit of powder came out of the pads onto the towel. I was really surprised as I thought it would be messier than it was.

The hair coloured quite quickly. Megs hair is a dark blond colour and the colours altered easily.

All in all it took us about half an hour to do, which wasn't too long for an older child to sit.
Obviously if hair was shorter it would be quicker as there wouldn't be as much hair to colour.

I would certainly recommend this as a Christmas pressie for those girls you know who love messing around with their hair and different hair styles.
