365 Project

Week 30

I have abandoned the prompts for July as I was really struggling this week to find pictures that were suitable for each prompt.

Day 202
My gorgeous boy, striking a pose!

Day 203
Tree climbing!

Day 204
We have walked to the park a few times this week and on one of the trips we walked through the woods and saw this fabulous den that someone had made! The kids were fascinated with it! How cool is that??!! It had log seats and everything!
Day 205
We had a wander down behind our house after tea to see the horses and try and feed them some carrots, but they weren't bothered! We were also checking to see how the blackberries were doing as we are going to pick some to make jam when they are ready, probably another couple of weeks.

Day 206
The vary familiar path we take to the park! It is great as Ben can whizz along with his new found speed on his bike, without me worrying about roads.

Day 207
We took full opportunity of the nice weather to squeeze in another visit to a local park with Suzanne, Olivia, Charlie and Molly.

Day 208
Me and my beautiful sister.  Laura was a bridesmaid for her mother in law and we went along to the evening reception.
Everyone looked fab. The girls all looked beautiful and the men were very smart!

Benerisms

I haven't posted a Benerism for a bit but we had an excellent one today. Megs and Ben were sat in the back of the car and Megan was talking about the beach. She said, "so and so said that there are beaches were everyone wears no clothes!" I replied, "that's right, they are called nudist beaches and people can go there if they want to be naked when they are sunbathing." Cue much giggling from the back of the car! I glanced at Ben in the rear view mirror and I can almost see his mind whirling.
He then looks all far away and in a really thoughtful voice says, "I want to go there!" Megs burst out laughing, saying, "why?" Ben replies, "to see all the rudey dudeys!"
God I love him!

Swimming Fun!

When we were camping in Tenby we were so lucky with the weather. I know I keeping talking about it to anyone who will listen, but the weather made our camping trip this Whit holiday, and after last year and the fact we nearly got washed away and the tent blew down, I think we deserved it!

One of the best things with having fab weather was the fact that we were able to go to the beach LOTS, and into the on site pool, without freezing! The kids loved it and so did I. Spending a day on the beach is probably one of my most favourite things to do.

Megan is 8 now and over the past five years we have spent a fortune on swimming lessons, but she can now swim. I am confident that if the need arose and she fell into water by accident, she would be able to react accordingly to get herself out of difficulty.

However, we are now at the same stage with Ben now. I am looking into swimming lessons for him, for when he turns 4 in September and with this in mind I was looking into ways to keep him safe in water for now as he is getting very independent
.
One of the things that caught my eye was this swim suit that would be ideal for supporting Ben in the water, whilst giving him the freedom to move around easily. It comes in two different ages so the bigger one would great.

One thing Ben isn't too keen on is the water getting in his eyes so these goggles would be great.

With the weather continuing to be beautiful, we have headed to the beach a couple of times. Whilst we have been there I have been incredibly conscious of making sure that Megan and Ben have had enough sun cream on and that I have reapplied it every hour. These sun protection suits are are great idea for keeping children covered and cool and protecting vulnerable skin at the same time.

So considering all of this I was really pleased that this site offers a good choice in water safety aids and skin protection suits and all with an added bonus of delivery from only £1!

Looks like Ben will be sorted out until he can learn to swim! I best just get booking those swimming lessons for September...

365 Project

Week 29

For the month of July The Boy and Me suggested using these prompts.

Day 195
Edible
Roast Beef Sunday Dinner
Day 196
Outside The Window
There is nothing nicer than having tea outside in the sunshine!

Day 197
Bottle
One of my weaknesses, I drink far too much of this.

Day 198
Inspirational
My Megs is a true star and I picked her today as my inspirational photo because this week she has gone off on Brownie camp, and much as she has been really looking forward to it, she has also been really worried about being away from home, and especially me for 4 nights. 4 nights! We have had tears and she has really been over thinking the whole thing, but I am really hoping she is having a fab time, I'm sure she will be as I know what they will be getting up it and it is right up Megan's street!

Day 199
Number
Need I say more??!!

Day 200
Building
Megan and Ben's relationship is building and building. They do spend a lot of time bickering and driving me mad, but they are beginning to listen to each other more and take on board each others opinions. Long may it continue.

Day 201
Hot
What else can you do when it is hot, but enjoy a BBQ?
(I must confess this was taken earlier in the week, but I wanted to use it because we took Megan to Brownie camp today and as I was highly emotional I forgot to take a picture,)

Walton Park

Country Kids from Coombe Mill Family Farm Holidays Cornwall

I am linking up with Fiona from Country Kids From Coombe Mill, which is all about getting outside with the kids and having fun! That is something we love doing here and try and get out on a regular basis.

We spent a lovely couple of hours at Walton Park this morning. The weather was a bit cooler, which was not a bad thing.
Ben amazed me with what he can do now. We haven't been here for a couple of months and the last time we were here he really struggled with climbing some of the more difficult pieces of equipment. Not now though, he was great!
We also went on the miniature steam trains that run here at the weekend. Great fun! The only thing missing was Megan, who is Brownie camp. It was lovely though to spend some one on one time with Ben and I think he really enjoyed having Mummy and Daddy to himself, something that never usually happens!

The climbing net posed no problems!
Faster Daddy!

Up and over the climbing wall!

Piggy back fun!

Jump!
Hold tight!

Week 28

For the month of July The Boy and Me suggested using these prompts.

Day 188
Where You Are
I was on Formby Beach!

Day 189
Path
This is the path that runs down the side of our house that we wander up and down about twenty times a day, with bikes, scooters and balls!

Day 190
3 Things
I know this is more than three tings, but I wanted to highlight the three things that Megan and Ben are enjoying at the moment - the trampoline, the paddling pool and their bikes.

Day 191
Smooth
The two slides on the climbing frame that are so smooth and slippy - probably from being used so much!

Day 192
I Wore This!
My very well worn flip flops that haven't been off my feet for days!

Day 193
A Bad Habit
Need I say more!?!
Day 194
4 O' Clock
At 4 O' Clock my little man was alternating between cooling off in the paddling pool and climbing on the climbing frame, whilst the BBQ was heating up for tea!

Formby Beach

We spent Sunday at Formby beach....when we eventually got there! We had never been before but had heard it was lovely so we fancied giving it a go.
I think everyone in the north west was heading in the same direction! We had to park about 15 minutes walk away so we set off to the beach with our granny bag! This has to be one of our best buys ever! As we don't often take the buggy to the beach (who in their right mind likes dragging a buggy over sand?), we needed something to carry everything in. With two young children we never travel lightly and a trip to the beach, especially when camping, is no exception. Towels, buckets and spades, beach tent, picnic rug, wet suits to name just a few bits....so our gorgeously coloured granny bag was purchased and it is fantastic.
When we got to Formby beach we had to climb over a big sandy hill and then the whole beach was stretched out in front of us.
We set up our beach tent near a warm pool of sea water that had been left from the sea going out. The kids got straight into building sandcastles so we took the opportunity to lie down and sun bathe for 10 minutes.

We then had a wander to the sea, which took about 5 minutes to get there.

One thing I was surprised at was the amount of jelly fish lying around and Megan had great fun reminding us not to stand on them!
The sea was lovely and warm, just beautiful so we spent a while paddling and collecting a few shells. We then wandered back up and had a picnic lunch and then went for a play in the sand dunes. They were amazing. Beautiful warm and sandy. Great for playing in.

Before we left we treated ourselves to an ice cream.....which was certainly needed after trekking back up the hill to get off the beach!

Check out the granny bag!
