Devon Week 1

We have just come back from another lovely holiday in Devon at Whitehill Country Park.
We arrived at the tail end of hurricane Bertha and the first night was a bit hairy, big winds and rain but once again our Montana stood strong.
After setting up, unpacking and putting away our tesco delivery when had a well earned drink and Chinese takeaway.

During our first week we had lovely weather, a couple of showers which we dodged and it rained a little at night but apart from that it was t shirt weather.

We spent some time on Goodrington Sands, collecting shells and flying kites.
The children, Megan in particular, spent a lot of time in the pool too. She was in at least once every day and sometimes twice. Ben found it a bit chilly, but still managed to have a good few dips!

We visited one of our very favourite places, Pennywell Farm, and spent a lovely day, holding animals, exploring willow mazes, pond dipping, tractor rides and pig racing!

In Brixham we had a lovely wander around, and went onto tho Golden Hind, which Ben really enjoyed.

We ventured into Cornwall and visited The Eden Project, which we have never been to. They had a dinosaur exhibition on with very realistic dinosaurs!

We took a trip from Torquay to Brixham on the ferry and although we didn't see any dolphins this time, we still enjoyed the trip across the bay.

One of the best days involved crabbing at Stoke Gabriel. We caught loads, bucket fulls!!! The secret is putting bacon into the nets, but don't tell anyone!!!!

So during our first week we did lots, we spent a relaxed time together too, enjoying family time.
